- Create the handle. Position the paper horizontally and make a 1.5 inch fold from the bottom of the paper. Continue folding the paper up, gradually wrapping it around your original fold, until the entire sheet is wrapped around itself, forming a 1.5 inch flat tube. Tape around the two ends to enclose it and any flaps that may occur along the long opening and then fold the tube in half. You should make a sharp crease at the center.
-
2Repeat the process. Repeat this process but with different measurements. You'll want to make one at 1 inch and then one at half an inch next. Each needs to be rolled, taped, and folded, just the same as the first.
-
3Fold the handle. Take the 1.5 inch piece and unfold it at the center mark so that the crease is exposed. Then, measure just barely over 1 inch down the long sides from the center on each side. Fold it at this point down so that the edge meets just below the bottom end point of center crease.
- 4
- Cut the trigger slit. Cut a small slit along the center crease, just barely over.5 inch in length. This will act as a pocket for the trigger later.
- Making a temporary fold in the opposite orientation from the center crease should allow you to easily cut along the center crease line. Just be careful not to cut too far.
- 5
- Fold at the center crease again. Fold the paper at the center crease again so that the two angled sections are brought together, face-to-face. This is the main section of your gun into which the barrel and trigger will be inserted.
-
6Insert the barrel. Take the 1 inch strip and insert the open end through the left and right folds of our handle. You should now have something that looks like a gun. Make sure both sides are inserted through the pockets correctly.
-
7Cut a notch for the trigger. Cut a small notch at the back of the gun. This is what the trigger will rest on.
-
8Insert the trigger. Now insert the half inch strip through the pocket near where your finger would rest on the trigger and push it until you have paper sticking out at the trigger spot and also at the top-back of the gun (where we just made the notch).
-
9Trim the trigger. Cut the excess trigger strip until a notch is created by the trigger paper and the barrel of the gun.
- 10
- Load up your gun. Take a rubber band and stretch it from the front nozzle to the back of the gun. The rubber band should rest behind the slit and above one corner of the half inch strip.
- If it has difficulty staying put at the front of the gun, you can cut a small slit or notch at the front of the gun to give the band a place to rest.
- Sometimes the paper can buckle when you put the rubber band on. If this happens, reinforce the barrel by taping a couple of skewers to the two sides.
- 11
- Fold ninja star bullets for extra fun. You can fold ninja star bullets if you want something extra fun. Just place one corner of the star lightly between the two halves of the gun, just down the barrel from the trigger. When you shoot the gun, the rubber band should catch on the star and send it flying!
