Instructions
- Set your toilet paper roll upright on a paper plate. Cut off a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to cover the roll. Place the foil sheet on top of the opening of the roll, and smooth the foil down over the roll.
- Tuck the excess foil inside the bottom opening of the roll. If needed, add a dollop or two of glue from the glue gun to secure the foil to the inside of the roll. This is your submarine base.
- Cut off another sheet of aluminum foil large enough to cover a gumdrop or large marshmallow. Wrap the candy. This is your sub's "hatch," which allows passengers to get in and out of the vessel. Add a dollop of glue from the glue gun to the foil-wrapped candy and place it near the front of the submarine base.
- Trace the circular base of the open end of the toilet paper roll on a black piece of construction paper and on a yellow piece of construction paper. Cut out the circles. Drop glue from the glue gun around the perimeter of the black circle, and place the open end of the submarine onto the glue. This will close up your submarine.
- Draw the submarine's propeller on the yellow circle with a pencil. You can use an image of a boat propeller as a model. Cut out the yellow propeller, and use white craft glue or a glue stick to glue it to the black circle.
- Draw designs on the sides of the submarine using a pencil. A pencil acts as an "engraving" tool on aluminum foil.
